HYPOP

HYPOP – Hydrogen Public Opinion and Acceptance, is a project funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership under the European Horizon Europe programme. HYPOP’s overall objective is to raise public awareness and trust towards hydrogen technologies and their systemic benefits, through the following activities:

  • the preparation of guidelines and good practices that will help to define more effectively how citizens, consumers/end users, and stakeholders can be involved in the implementation of Hydrogen technologies;
  • the creation of a social platform collecting communication materials (videos, news, scientific papers) on new hydrogen technologies, developed according to the early findings of the public engagement activities;
  • the definition of indicators to be used for Hydrogen Social Life Cycle Assessment for public acceptance and informed decision-making.

HYPOP will focus on two applications: residential and mobility, which will enter into the daily life of people.

The project involves 8 partners and 6 countries: together with Environment Park as coordinator, the Consortium is composed of three other national clusters dedicated to hydrogen (Cluster Tweed, Regional Pomeranian Chamber of Commerce with the Cluster of Hydrogen Techologies, BH2 – Balkan Hdrogen Cluster), three research centers (IMDEA Energy, CNH2 – National Hydrogen Center, IMI – Institute of Methods Innovation) and the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE).

ENVIPARK ROLE

Environment Park is HYPOP Project Coordinator and it is involved in the development of the whole project. Thanks to its experience on hydrogen and fuel cell initiatives in partnership with industrial and research bodies, it also lead the activities on stakeholders’ requirements for FCH technologies installation. Safety, permitting and certification requirements with needs and barriers will be mapped in different EU countries. It also collaborates to the development of Guidelines and good practices for first responders and certification bodies. Environment Park contributes to the Video and Infographics creation to improve the HYPOP communication activities and raise awareness about hydrogen among citizens.
